CATHY VEALE

Cathy Veale is attracting increasing acclaim with her stunning coastal scenes. Renowned for her large watercolour seascapes, she takes inspiration from the beautiful Dorset coastline and from being a keen sailor. Her paintings depict a unique sense of texture, concentrating on the effects of light and colour on water.

Cathy studied Graphic Design at the Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design from 1978 to 1981. After travelling extensively around Europe, America and New Zealand undertaking a variety of different artwork, she settled in Swanage in Dorset, her home town, where she continues to work as a full time professional artist.

Cathy has had her work selected at the Royal West of England Academy, the National Laing exhibition and has regularly exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.
